Man charged with public order offences after bomb scare in bar
A man has been charged with public order offences and assaulting a police officer after an incident inside a popular bar.
Essex Police were called to Three Wise Monkeys, in High Street, Colchester, at around 6.30pm on Saturday.
Members of the public called the emergency services after a man threw an unidentified object and suggested there was an explosive device in the bar.
Kirk Rutter, 46, of Warren Lingley Way, Tiptree, was arrested and charged with two offences under the Public Order Act as well as assaulting a constable.
He has been released on bail to appear at court on October 29.
