DETECTIVES involved in a conspiracy to commit theft investigation are looking to reunite stolen property to its rightful owners.

More than 150 items have been seized including boats, trailers, bicycles, quad bikes, mini motos power tools and a jet ski.

Most of the goods been stolen from North Essex.

Det Con Mike Heslegrave from Colchester CID urged people to look through the photos.

He said: "So far we have successfully been able to identify and reunite more than £40,000 worth of stolen items with their owners.

“However, we still have a number of items which we believe are also stolen but as yet haven’t identified who they belong to.

“If you have had some property of this nature stolen recently, please take a moment to look through these photos.

"Most of the thefts happened in the North Essex area and are from boat yards and building sites although residential properties may also have been targeted.

"We are asking people who may be at risk of being targeted, to be vigilant and to make sure all valuable property is kept secure and out of sight as much as where possible when unattended."

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone who believes they have been the victim of a similar theft, or have information which could help detectives, should contact Det Con Heslegrave on 101.

Information can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.
