A THIEF has been jailed after stealing a £230 vape pen on the same day he had been handed a suspended sentence.
Thomas Williams took the e-cigarette just hours after admitting to assault two police officers at Colchester Magistrates' Court where he was given an eight week suspended prison term.
Back at the court the 35-year-old admitted the theft, breaching his suspended sentence order, stealing £120 worth of perfume from Boots and interfering with a motor vehicle with the intention of stealing it.
Williams, of Speedwell Road, Colchester, was jailed for 18 weeks.
