Police cordon off road following incident
POLICE are investigating after a man was hit by a car.
The 19-year-old victim was struck by a Vauxhall Astra in Stockwell Street at about 4.45pm yesterday.
Police cordoned off Ball Alley in the Dutch Quarter at both ends.
Officers were diverting people away from the scene.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "He suffered a cut to his head.
"Witnesses are asked to contact Colchester CID on 101 quoting reference number 42/132018/18. Alternatively, contact the Crimestoppers charity 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or use the anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org."
