Hundreds of residents flocked to the return of a popular beer festival in the grounds of an idyllic town church.

The Coggeshall Beer Festival took place at St Nicholas Chapel Field, in Abbey Lane, from Thursday through to Sunday.

Organised by the Red Fox Brewery team, this year more than 45 different varieties of beer were on offer for drinkers.

Founder of the Red Fox Brewery Russ Barnes said: “Over the weekend we probably had the best part of 2,000 people through the gates.

“Our sales were up by around 20 per cent on last year.

“We have had some very positive comments and people were very impressed with the venue.

“We have already booked the marquee ready for next year.”
