Some of this country's brightest young footballing talent will be on show at the JobServe Community Stadium in November after the venue was chosen to host England's under-20 clash with Germany.

The home of Colchester United FC will provide the stage for the Young Lions' home international on November 19, kick-off 7pm.

It will be the seventh time that the U's stadium has hosted an international fixture.

U's general manager Tim Waddington said: “We are delighted to once again be welcoming The FA and an England side to our home venue in Colchester.

"In little over ten years, we’ve been honoured to have an international fixture on seven occasions and we look forward once again to welcoming the best of this country’s young footballing talent.

“These games are a fantastic opportunity to show what we offer at Colchester United, and we look forward to having another big crowd for the match in November.”

Tickets are on sale now for both fixtures priced £3 for adults and £1 for children.

England's under-20 match against Germany at Colchester will follow on from their game against Italy at AFC Fylde’s Mill Farm stadium, which takes place on Thursday October 11.

England under-20 manager Paul Simpson said: “I am delighted to be able to take our U20s on the road to play these stadium games.

“Italy and Germany will provide our players with a real stern test as we look to continue the good work of last season’s U20s in the European elite league fixtures.

“AFC Fylde and Colchester United will provide us with excellent stadiums to host these games and hopefully we can get an enthusiastic atmosphere for the players as they continue their international development.

“Our long-term aim for this group of players is for them to progress to the Under-21s and senior teams, and that is the challenge for the season for all of the players we will be selecting.”
