FAMILIES enjoyed fun-packed sessions discovering Victorian galleries.
Visitors at Hollytrees Museum, in Colchester, were encouraged to draw inspiration from some of the curiosities on display, and get crafty by making their very own “zoetrope” - an early animation device once popular before the invention of cinema.
Families learned all about a time before film and television, and how a Victorian family would have brought the magic of illusion into their homes.
Working alongside museum staff, the children chose which images they wanted to bring to life, discovering how households not so different from their own would have enjoyed spending time together more than 100 years ago.
