A WOMAN who was left stranded outside a hospital at night wants to thank the 'Harwich Angel' who helped her.
Joan Davies had helped a friend get admitted to Colchester General Hospital on August 4.
By the time she left the hospital it was about 10pm, and having rushed in to the hospital she had left her lights on.
It was down to the kind acts of a young man, from Harwich, that she was able to get home.
She said: "I had been helping a friend in a very challenging situation, when I left the hospital I found my car battery was completely flat.
"I was in a hurry and had left my car lights on.
"There was a young man, in his 30s, who was getting into his car at the same time."
The man used Joan's jump leads to jump-start her car, he said he would follow her home to Greenstead to make sure she got back safely.
Joan said: "He asked me how far it was, I said I lived in Greenstead and he had no idea where it was.
"He was willing to follow me home and then used his Sat Nav to get back to Harwich."
She wants to try and find the man to thank him.
She said: "Thank you so much angel for your help, you are marvellous."
