A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in the leg.

Police were called to the Co-op in Mersea Road, Colchester, shortly before 3pm today.

Officers searched the area after finding the man with an injury to his leg and arrested a 39-year-old woman.

She is currently in custody.

The man was taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Officers have cordoned off the car park as well as a flatbed van which is parked inside it.

Detectives were on the scene yesterday conducting door to door enquiries nearby and in the roads surrounding the store.

Police are not looking for any other suspects in connection with the attack.
