A MAN who was given the all clear from cancer in June is running the London Marathon to thank the charity that supported him.

Jack Goldring, from East Mersea, started going to the doctors in October 2016 as he had a continual virus.

Last November, he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Luckily, he was given the all clear in June but is raising awareness of the importance of seeking help.

Jack, 24, was helped by charity Clic Sargent, which supports young people with cancer.

He said: "This charity is very close to my heart, I have been affected by cancer and had my own journey battling it.

"Clic Sargent played a major role emotionally and financially, helping me through it every step of the way.

"If I can raise some money to make that possible for other young people in the same position I found myself in, that would mean the world to me."

He has already started training for the marathon, as he plans on finishing it in less than three hours.

He braved the heatwave on Friday with a 10k run.

He said: "I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated.

"We have raised a incredible amount of money so far. I am so close to reaching my target of £2,000."
