Fancy an evening of laughs for less-than-perfect parents.

Then get along to the Mercury Theatre next month when the Scummy Mummies arrive in town.

Following their sell-out UK tour, comedians Helen Thorn and Ellie Gibson are bringing their popular comedy show to the Colchester theatre on August 7.

With new songs, new sketches, new catsuits and even some new jokes, the Scummy Mummies specialise in producing and performing comedy for parents who take a more laissez faire approach to bringing up their brood.

They celebrate the scummier side of parenting, from drinking wine at teatime to hiding from the PTA.

This hilarious show is based on the UK’s number one parenting podcast, Scummy Mummies, that has been downloaded over a million times in more than 100 countries.

In 2017 Scummy Mummies was nominated for Best Comedy Podcast at the British Podcast Awards. The comedy duo have also released a best-selling book and have appeared on TV including ITV’s Lorraine, Good Morning Britain and Victoria Derbyshire. They have also been guests on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, Broadcasting House and regularly feature on Radio 5 Live.

With a show that covers a wide range of parenting topics, from pelvic floors and play-dates to farting and fish fingers, the Scummy Mummies are at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester, on August 7 from 8pm. Tickets are £16 from 01206 763618 or on-line at mercurytheatre.co.uk
