An historic water tower could be given by a new lease of life - by a railway museum.
The rusty tower on the A137, just past Manningtree station's railway crossing, has been there since steam engines were used.
The trains used the resource to fill up with water to run the steam engines.
Now Lawford parish councillor Lesley Pallett has suggested the tower is moved to the East Anglian Railway Musuem, at Chappel and Wakes Colne railway station, where it might get some more attention.
Mrs Pallett told fellow councillors at a meeting of Lawford parish council on Monday, of the idea.
They agreed it was a good idea and Mrs Pallett has written to Essex County Council to see if the railway museum would offically consider the suggestion.
