WITH the summer holidays upon us once more many of us will be looking for activities to keep the children busy.
And these images show swimming has long been a popular pastime in Colchester.
Many may recall the outdoors pool, in Colnebank Avenue, which eventually became the home of the Canoe Club, and the early days of the Leisure centre and its indoor pool.
These images show work underway to expand and improve leisure services in Colchester.
And for almost 30 years the town has now been served by Colchester Leisure World.
In the early 1990s the existing structure was created including a leisure pool with flumes and its 25 metre training pool.
