A Sea Scouts training ship will be getting a makeover thanks to a £5,000 prize.
Colchester's Sea Scouts scooped the top prize in the annual B&Q You Can Do It Awards after creating energy and water saving solutions to benefit the community.
Thanks to their prize they will be replacing toilets on the training ship Colne Light with dual flush systems to reduce water consumption, using low energy lightbulbs and an energy efficient boiler.
They beat competition from about 1,400 entrants to win the prize.
