Youngsters flocked to a beach in Walton to find out who is king of the castles.
Dozens of children, parents and holidaymakers took to the beach with their buckets and spades to take part in the town's annual sandcastle competition.
The contest, which is organsied as part of the resort's carnival, took place on Albion Beach on Saturday.
The winners of the competition were the Barrick team, made up from Katie and Nigel Barrick, of Walton, who made a tower surround by more than a dozen castles.
Second place was given to a sculpture of an Octopus made by the Whybrow team, which included Barbara, Mark and Alex Huckle, Chris and Luke Gray and Danny Whybrow. The third place team was the Surfers.
