A church warden has spoken of his "upset" after vandals attacked his church for the third time in six months.

Ken Wheeler, warden at All Saints church, Dovercourt, said that after vandals removed a window from the church in broad daylight, something had to be done.

"I am afraid churches are vulnerable. We have got to think about some real security measures, like bars at the windows."

He said a colleague made the discovery at lunchtime on Sunday, after the morning's service.

"What amazes me is that there are people in the churchyard all day long and no one saw anything."

"I am upset, for it to happen in broad daylight on a Sunday afternoon, it is a brazen thing to do," he added.
