CASTLE Park may not be showing England’s match against Croatia tonight, but there are plenty of other places you can see the big game while out and about.
Bars across Colchester will be screening the 90 minutes live including at the Centurion and Walkabout in Head Street, the Marquis in North Hill and across to the Goat and Boot in East Street.
Great Horkesley’s the Half Butt Inn and the Fat Cat, in Maldon Road, will also be joining in the fun, while those on Mersea can stay on the island and head to the Fox Inn.
But they aren’t the only ones set to be gripped by the action.
Essex University’s Student Union Bar will be showing the game for students, lecturers and residents alike.
And if you fancy a bit of peace and quiet head to The Victoria, which will be keeping the TVs off.
Colchester Council revealed this week plans to show the semi-final in Castle Park had been dashed after Essex Police said they had left it too late to organise the event.
