Enforcement action could be taken against the developer of a golf course in Thorpe.
Permission for a nine-hole golf course and driving range at the former Rose Quarry in Thorpe Park Lane was granted in 2002.
But Tendring Council officers have now been given the power to take enforcement action at the site if they see fit, although no action will be taken for the time being as it is hoped the council will be able to negotiate with the developer.
Officers feared that land-shaping at the site has deviated from the original plans.
And Thorpe Parish Council also hit out at the developer, Eamonn Ryan, claiming he had brought more waste material to the site.
Officers hope Mr Ryan will submit a revised planning application for the golf course design that will addresses the council's concerns.
