Controversial plans to build houses on a former school field in Clacton have been deferred.
Cosy Developments wants to build 24 houses on the land, next to the Windsor School in Holland Road.
But a committee of residents from east Clacton want the site safeguarded for the use of the community as a "pocket park".
Tendring Council's planning committee was yesterday due to decide on the developer's plans, which have been rejected on four separate occasions.
But a decision on the long-running saga has once again been put back.
Brian Whitson (Lib Dem, Bockings Elm) earlier called on a decision on an application for the change of use of land in Cranleigh Close, Clacton, to be put off in order for councillors to make a site visit.
The site visit will take place on September 5 and the application is expected to be decided by the committee at its next meeting on September 11.
