A flytipping victim says no-one will help him stop people dumping stinking rubbish outside his home.

Tenant John Reynolds lives in Bennett Court, Colchester, where he claims there has been a waste problem for three years.

Sofas, rabbit hutches and junk have been discarded in a walkway behind his house.

And bin bags full of waste are put in the street soon after a dustbin collection, causing the rubbish to pile up for a week.

However, Mr Reynolds said neither landlords Colne Housing Society or Colchester Council would do anything about it.

Martin Buddery, housing director of Colne Housing Society, said it could not remove the rubbish itself because the properties were privately-owned.

However, he said: "We can get in touch with the landlords and make them aware of the rubbish issue with their tenants."

Dave McManus, street care and recycling manager for the council, said it would investigate the problem and work with Colne Housing Society. to try and resolve it.
