The Kooks
4 Music Stage, Saturday 9.35pm

THOUSANDS of music-lovers were treated to a series of new tracks from The Kooks at this year's V Festival.

The band, which formed as part of a school project in Brighton four years ago, gave fans a taste of their next album at Chelmsford's Hylands Park.

The Kooks, who were headlining the 4 Music Stage on Saturday, played new songs including Time Awaits, Oil, Sway, I Want You, Always Where and Do You Wanna.

The band also pumped out hits such as Seaside, See the World and I Want You, but the large crowd responded well to The Kooks' best known tracks such as Ooh La and She Moves In Her Own Way.

The highlights of the session were lead-singer Luke Pritchard's charismatic performance and a show-stopping rendition of Naïve, which had been eagerly awaited for by the jubilant festival-goers.
