A TEENAGE gang assaulted a man leaving him needing hospital treatment.
The group of about five teenagers set upon a man in his 40s in New Farm Road, Stanway, on Saturday night.
He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to the assault.
Two 16-year-old boys from Colchester have been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and remain in police custody.
Anyone who saw the incident, which happened at about 10pm, or who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area at that time is asked to contact Detective Inspector Gary Biddle at Clacton CID on 101, quoting reference 42/73591/18.
