TO many, the Castle Park Oktoberfest was a real hit in... well, October.
It was understood organisers were keen to make the event an annual fixture, but the actions of a few meant Colchester Council ruled out hosting such an event in the beauty spot in the future.
Residents reported “very loud music” on both Friday and Saturday nights with “an extremely heavy bass”.
Critics of the event complained stewards did not supervise the crowds at closing time with many revellers appearing to "drunk and marauding through the streets".
People were all spotted climbing on walls, walking over cars and publicly urinating.

But organisers are not giving up hope on returning to town this year.
Bosses posted on the event's Facebook page: "Hallo Colchester.
"Thank you for your continued patience in waiting for Oktoberfest news
"We are very much still trying to secure a venue for 2018 and hope to be heading back to the UK to see you all soon. Danke."
With Castle Park out of the question, where is the best place for the popular festival to go?
