CHELMSFORD’s Civic Theatre is set to welcome two guest speakers next week who will help you expand your brain and take your positive mental attitude to new heights. 

On Tuesday (March 13) Professor  Robert Winston, one of the most instantly recognisable scientists in the country, will be at the theatre to give a lecture entitled Improving Your Learning. 

Billed as an ‘exciting and illustrated talk’, the brain-box scientist will share with the audience how recent research highlights not only how valuable learning is, but also what we all can do to improve our learning - and reap the rewards long after we leave school.

Professor Winston is known for his infectious enthusiasm and energy when it comes to sharing his passion for science and he will take a Q&A session at the end of his talk from the audience.

Tickets for the event cost  £18/ concession: £16.50
Then on Friday (March 16) top British mountaineer, big-wall climber  and motivational expert, Andy Kirkpatrick will be at the theatre, as part of its ‘speakers from the edge series’.

His new show, Psychovertical: A Higher Education, which will coincide with the release of the film Psychovertical by award-winning director Jen Randell, Andy Kirkpatrick looks back at forty years of climbing and adventures, from the Alps to Patagonia, Yosemite to Greenland, a story all the things that make life amazing.

Tickets are £17. The show is for people aged 16 and over.
