A WOMAN was arrested and cannabis was seized after police worked with community-gathered intelligence to execute a warrant.
Acting upon intelligence gathered through Colchester's Street Weeks initiative, officers worked alongside partners from Colne Housing to search a property in Artillery Street, New Town, Colchester.
Officers seized a "substantial amount" of cannabis at the address, as well as drug paraphernalia and cash.
A 32-year-old woman, from Colchester, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.
Following the search, PCSOs teamed up with Colchester Community Safety Partnership partners from Active Citizens.
They offered reassurance to the residents and explained what had been happening in the area.
Pc Hayley Langmead, who lead the warrant, said: “This is a great example of how initiatives such as Street Weeks help us to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in our community.
“Street Weeks is about listening to local people and taking action.
"Through our strong relationship with members of the Community Safety Partnership, such as Colne Housing, we are able to tackle these issues and resolve matters of concern to the community.”
