AN eldery woman was threatened by burglars who stole jewellery and cash.
Two men forced their way through the backdoor of a house in Broome Grove, Wivenhoe, just after 9pm on Wednesday.
Once inside they threatened an 84-year-old woman and one of them searched the upstairs rooms.
They left with gold jewellery and cash.
A third man remained outside while the other two were in the house.
Police want to speak to anyone who saw three men acting suspiciously in the area at the time, or anyone who has been offered gold jewellery for sale and are suspicious about where it came from.
The men were described as being aged in their 30s to 40s and wore T-shirts and jeans.
