Police today raided a suspected drugs den in the latest drive to clean up Colchester.
Fourteen officers wearing stab-proof vests, and a dog trained to sniff out drugs, descended on a terraced house on the St Anne's estate at 6.30am today.
They used a hydraulic ram to smash their way in to the house in Gascoigne Road to execute a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
They searched the house for illegal substances after a tip-off that Class A drugs were being sold from the address.
The pre-planned operation, codenamed Kiel, comes after months of intelligence-gathering by officers.
It was the second drugs warrant to be executed by the team in a week.
