GRANGE Farm and Dunmow Runners had a choice of marathons on Sunday, at Chelmsford and Abingdon.

In blustery conditions, 484 runners completed the Chelmsford event.

The race was won by Peter Hogben, of Canterbury Harriers, in two hours, 34 minutes and 35 seconds.

Fastest for Grange Farm was Ashwin Shah (3h 29m 1s), finishing just ahead of Gerard Geurts (3h 29m 2s) and followed by Colin Jackson (3h 49m 59s).

Meanwhile, five members of the club travelled to Oxfordshire to join more than 750 competitors taking part in the Abingdon marathon.

Ian Lawson, finishing in 3h 38m 33s, was fastest for Grange Farm.

Jason Bepey (3h 42m 3s) and Mark Smith (4h 26m 23s) each achieved personal best times, while Karen Pickering (3h 42m 42s) was followed by Hayley Smith (3h 58m 25s).

Grange Farm will be holding a ten-mile road race at Stebbing on November 12.
