THE 19th Clacton annual triathlon weekend attracted 469 competitors.
There were three senior events and four children’s Eastern League races.
Being the only weekend event in the country, and including sea swims, it has a special attraction and triathletes come from far and wide.
Among those to face the challenge was a woman with an inoperable brain tumour, racing the Olympic-distance event, and a man with cerebral palsy, in the Sprint event.
The Brain and Spine Foundation benefits from the weekend and so far, before this year's contribution, they have received over £90,000 from the Clacton Triathlon.
Representatives from the foundation presented commemorative medals to all the participating children and the appropriate awards to the first, second and third-place finishers in all events.
The children’s winners were Rufus Jenner Walden Junior, Leon Wheeler, Liam Conway, Fred Wardle and Tom Blake.
The senior awards went to Tim Davies (Ipswich Tri Club) in the Sprint and Thomas Davis (Race Hub Tri Club) in the Olympic Distance.
The Paul Hickey Memorial Trophy for the first local woman to finish the Olympic-distant event was awarded to Sonja Strutt.
