A MAN alleged to have urinated in a police van is set to stand trial.
Lewis Straighton appeared in Colchester Magistrates' Court yesterday.
The court heard Straighton was taken into police custody after he was seen shouting loudly in an argument with his partner in Magdalen Street, in Colchester.
When two police officers approached him on July 25, it is alleged he kicked one of them in the groin.
The bench also heard when the 21-year-old put into a "caged" police van, he urinated in it.
Straighton, of Bergholt Road, in Colchester denies using threatening behaviour in public, assaulting a police officer and criminal damage.
He will next appear in Ipswich Crown Court next month.
