TWO migrant workers who were convicted of murdering British backpacker Essex University student Hannah Witheridge and fellow Brit David Miller have launched a final appeal against their sentences.
The British pair were killed on the Thai island of Koh Tao in September 2014.
Win Zaw Htun, and Zaw Lin have denied being responsible.
Miss Witheridge, from Hemsby in Norfolk, had been raped before she was killed, while Mr Miller, from Jersey, had been hit over the head before drowning in the sea.
The crime tarnished Thailand’s image as a holiday paradise, threatening its lucrative tourist industry.
Mr Miller’s family said “justice” has been delivered after the men were sentenced to death for the killings in December 2015.
Miss Witheridge’s family, who did not travel to Thailand for the verdicts, said at the time the year since her death had been an “unimaginably impossible time” and they would now “digest the outcome of the trial”.
