THE first of around 14,000 households have received their new wheelie bins today as Colchester Council begins it roll-out.
Back in September, councillors announced proposals to move from weekly to fortnightly bin collections and revealed homes in six wards would all be recieving a new bin.
Residents in Mile End, Stanway, Greenstead, Shrub End, Old Heath (exlcuding Hythe and Rowhedge) and Berechurch will be getting their wheelie bins between today and next Friday (June 16).
Those areas which are given a 180-litre wheelie bin will put it out for collection while areas which are not given wheelie bins would be limited to leaving out three black sacks.
