CHILDREN are making positive steps towards becoming healthier after taking part in a daily mile.
Earls Colne Primary School has signed up to take part in the Active Essex scheme, where pupils are walking or running six and a half laps around the school field.
The children had their first run this week.
Mel Pyne, admin officer at the school, said: “Our children are incredibly enthusiastic, they found it really fun.
“It’s a really good example of our children helping each other, they were all encouraging each other.
“They learn about resilience and how they can do a really good job.”
Active Essex is working with Essex County Council to improve health and wellbeing.
