A CARE home is calling on the community to donate wool so residents can knit hats for newborn babies.
Corner House care home, in Wash Lane, Clacton, has been donating knitted hats, made by its residents, to Colchester Hospital’s maternity and neonatal wards for the past two years.
The care home's residents are now in need of more double knit wool from the Clacton community to make more hats for newborns.
Tracy Josko, Corner House’s activity manager, said: “From my own experience recently having a baby, I was so happy that the hat the hospital put on her was knitted by one of the Corner House residents, so I saw first-hand how these hats were needed and used.”
