A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital after falling off a horse and fracturing her hip.
The incident happened in a field off Ivy Lane, East Mersea, at around 10.45am yesterday.
A rapid response vehicle, ambulance crew, hazardous area response team and Essex Air Ambulance were sent to help.
Paramedics treated a woman, believed to be in her 40s, before she was airlifted to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment.
Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
