A FIRE which destroyed a shed and left a home smoke-logged began in a tumble dryer, firefighters say.
Crews from Frinton, Weeley and Clacton were called to Grasmere Gardens, Kirby Cross shortly after 3.30pm yesterday.
When they arrived, firefighters found the back of the property was on fire and the whole house was filled with smoke.
The fire was extinguished by 4.20pm.
It has since been confirmed the fire started in a tumble dryer in a shed.
The fire spread from the shed along the decking to the rear of the house.
The shed was destroyed and the house has suffered smoke damage.
