COLOURS were flying as pupils were showered in paint during a fun-packed race.

Clacton County High School staged its fourth colour run in a bid to make PE more fun for youngsters.

Year 7 pupils dashed around the course getting covered in powder paint as they went.

Last year the school staged a This Girl Can army-style assault course to get more girls involved in physical exercise.

About 100 pupils took part in the latest event.

Headteacher Neil Gallagher said: “The This Girl Can event was a Sport England drive initially to get more girls involved in physical participation sports and it has evolved from that.

“The girls’ colour run was so successful we thought it would be great to hold one for boys and girls together, so we had about 100 Year 7s running around the school field.”
