Sports facilities in Dovercourt could be set for a major facelift.
Plans are being drawn up to give the resort's ageing sports facilities a much-needed boost, after similar improvements are carried out at Clacton's Leisure Centre.
Work started this week at the Clacton venue on the £2.77 million revamp, which will see extensions and internal changes to the council-run facility.
Pierre Oxley, portfolio holder for leisure on Tendring Council, said: "We are investing a significant amount - a multi-million pound investment in Clacton.
"If you look at Frinton, Walton or Dovercourt's facilities, they are looking a bit aged. That is my next project."
