Work has started on a multi-million pound leisure facility in Clacton.
Construction of the state-of-the-art Lifestyles project at Clacton Leisure Centre, got underway at the site in Vista Road, yesterday.
The £2.77 million revamp will see three external extensions and internal alterations to the council-run facility.
There will be a new 80-station gym, spa and sauna, new dry area changing rooms, coffee shop, creche and other improvements to the existing leisure centre.
The centre's first-floor balcony, which is largely unused by the public, will also be extended to provide an expanded fitness suite. A two-storey health suite extension will also be built.
