Antisocial hooligans could be in line for stiffer punishments under tough new measures, which will see their personal details logged on a database.
The electronic file will store information of culprits who are caught by police causing trouble in hot spots around Colchester, including their name, age and reason for being stopped.
Police and antisocial behaviour officers from Colchester Council will be able to access the information and take action "wherever appropriate".
It is hoped the three-month trial programme will also identify antisocial trends, making it easier for agencies to nip trouble in the bud later down the line.
