FRIENDS, Romans, Colcestrians - take part in a fun day.

The Colchester Archaeological Trust is holding a day of Roman and 21st century entertainment.

Youngsters can have a go at Aquila, a version of the famous board game found by archaeologists from the Trust at Stanway in 1996 which made headlines across the world.

There will also be the clog-dancing wizards, Annie’s Fantasies, and an African drum workshop.

Colchester Outdoor Hire Centre, which hires bikes and is now based at the Roman Circus Centre off Circular Road North, Colchester, will have its official launch.

Visitors will have the chance to ride novelty bikes including a modern version of the Penny Farthing or try riding on a tandem.

The mini fun day is on Saturday from 10am to 2pm and entry is free.

Visitors can also look around the Roman Circus Centre which has displays of Britain's only Roman chariot circus and other historic artefacts.
