NINE hundred runners took part in the PARA’S 10 charity challenge in Colchester on Sunday 15.

Civilians and soldiers completed at 10 mile run, with a target to finish within 1hour and 50 minutes.

Runners started off at Abbey Fields, through the Merville Barracks before finishing at Friday Woods.

The route saw the runners take on the same hills and soldiers on training runs.

The runners were a mixture of cross-country style racing in trainers or as the ‘P Company Challenge’ wearing, boots, trousers and carrying a 35lb rucksack, known as tabbing.

A minutes silence was held for the terrorist attacks in Paris.
