SKATING rink bosses are hoping to drum up business with a spooktacular mock news report warning of a zombie invasion.

The video shows a news anchorman explaining that a group of zombies are heading towards Rollerworld on Colchester’s Moorside in time for Halloween on Saturday.

Rollerworld boss Andy Starr said his team wanted to find a different way of attracting customers ahead of one of the most popular nights of the year, which will include free entry from 7pm to those who are dressed up.

He said: “We really wanted to do something a bit different because Halloween is always a big day and night for us.

“On Saturday night anyone in full Halloween costume will be given free admission.

“It is something we started two years ago and really it is just a thank you to everyone who supports us.

“We are hoping to have surprise guests appearing as well.

“The rink will also be open between noon and 5pm with prizes for the best dressed skaters.”
