Job Title: Home Delivery Co-Ordinator (Post No. 5.129)
Department: Newspaper Sales
Responsible to: THE SALES DEVELOPMENT MANAGER via the DIRECT DELIVERY MANAGER


Main Objectives:

  1. To provide an efficient distribution service for Echo Newspapers, as directed by the Direct Delivery Manager

  2. To foster a climate of goodwill toward the Company, its customers and employees, thereby providing a solid platform for continued growth

  3. To develop and maintain the sales and distribution plan.

  4. To control the efficient delivery of the Echo to homes on your designated area.

  5. To be responsible for the payment of copies via cash (PAD) or alternative methods of payment (EASY PAY/PAY BY MAIL)

  6. To ensure that the Company vehicle being driven by yourself is kept clean and in a roadworthy condition.


Relationships

  1. He/She will be responsible to the Direct Delivery Manager. In the absence of the Direct Delivery Manager, he/she will be directly responsible to the Sales Development Manager

  2. His/her immediate subordinates will be Delivery Agents.

  3. He/she must maintain a close liaison with the distribution, canvassing and central admin. Team.


Job Requirements

  1. To ensure you have the correct amount of papers before leaving the depot.

  2. To ensure papers are delivered to Delivery Agent homes by the target time.

  3. To maintain the required number of Delivery Agents for efficient distribution
    at all times.

  4. To conduct parent interviews for all Delivery Agents and ensure they comply with the local education authority bylaws and that the appropriate employment forms are completed and returned to Head Office.

  5. To train and develop all Delivery Agents and Cash Collectors.

  6. To ensure all rounds are delivered each night and to cover both rounds and cash collecting when uncovered.

  7. To provide efficient and regular cash collection for PAD customers and to convert PAD customers to EASY PAY.

  8. To canvass for new readers to maintain sales, and to achieve monthly
    sales targets.

  9. To identify all new homes and occupancy

  10. To maintain accurate records of all customers, complete accounts and bank company monies weekly.
