THE long-serving manager of Colchester’s Culver Square shopping centre has retired.
Derek Ashbee had been involved with the centre since it opened in October 1987.
He said: “I have enjoyed being part of both the business and wider communities of Colchester.
“Being involved in driving change for Culver Square and Colchester over the years has been extremely rewarding.”
He is succeeded by David Robertson, who spent the last five years in property management in London.
He said: “The prospect of taking Culver Square through the next stage of its life cycle is exciting.
“Culver Square is a great shopping destination in a thriving town. I am looking forward to continuing to ensure the centre remains the first choice for shopping in Colchester.”
