A NURSERY school has criticised callous burglars who stole their laptop computers and games.
Burglars struck at Pebbles Kindergarten in Thoroughgood Road, Clacton.
They took £3,000 of electrical goods, including three laptop computers, a Wii computer games console, games and a mobile telephone.
Carol Thornton-Jones, nursery director, said: “The children are very angry with the bad men.
“Parents feel it is very callous to take things away from children, particularly at this time of year in the run up to Christmas.”
The burglars broke in through a back window between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning causing £1,000 damage.
Mrs Thornton-Jones said: “We had to shut half the nursery while the incident was dealt with.
“We had to close two classrooms, so about 20 children had to be turned away.”
Anyone with information can call Clacton police on 01255 254211.
