THE owner of a bar featured on TV show Bouncers says the footage was edited to exaggerate Colchester’s boozy nightlife.

Curtis and Jamie were the stars of the Channel 4 show - but one scene showed Curtis threatening a man.

Osman Rasih, who owns Silk Road in Queen Street, said the footage was edited and taken out of context.

He said the customer had made several vile remarks, which led to Curtis’s reaction.

Mr Rasih said: “Curtis is a good doorman. He has been with me for five years.

“He takes so much abuse and he never reacts to it. I don’t think I could hold my position like that.

“When people see the documentary they just see it as one hour of filming they don’t realise it has taken six months of filming to get that.”

The next Bouncers episode featuring Clacton and Colchester will be shown on Channel 4 on Thursday at 10pm.
