A HOMEOWNER in Boxted has admitted carrying out unauthorised work on his listed home.
Christopher Board was prosecuted by Colchester Council for removing historic roof rafters at the 17th century thatched property in Straight Road.
Board, who replaced the beams with modern sawn timbers, admitted an offence under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Area) Act at Colchester Magistrates' Court earlier this month.
He was fined £1,000 by magistrates in Chelmsford on Monday, and ordered to pay £3,000 prosecution costs.
