DESIGNER watches and a widescreen television were among the items stolen during a burglary in West Mersea.
Detectives are appealing for information following the raid between 10am and 10pm on Tuesday in Empress Avenue.
The back door was forced.
Det Con Andrea Ford said: "Thieves walking out of a property or down a street with a large television is suspicious and should have caught the attention of passers-by.
"We would urge people to contact us if they saw anyone acting suspiciously.
"Although no getaway car was seen, we believe they must have used one in order to transport the large television.
"We need the eyes of the public to help us catch these people and stop burglaries."
A forensic examination of the property was conducted as were house-to-house enquiries.
Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact detectives at Colchester police station on 101.
