THE family of a carer who died in a crash have paid tribute to her as a loving mum-of-four who lived life to the full.

Angie Barker, 44, a palliative care worker, was on her way to see a client when her Citroen Saxo crashed with a Peugeot 207.

Mrs Barker, of Berkeley Road, Clacton, was pronounced dead at Colchester General Hospital after the crash in Colchester Road, St Osyth, on Monday at 7am.

Her husband Errol said: “Angie was a loving, devoted mother.

“She has been suddenly taken from us and will be sadly missed.

“She was a fun-loving person who lived life to the full. She was just Angie – she put others before herself, but always lived for the moment.”

Daughter Nikki, 20, said: “We’re all going to miss her so much. It’s hard to believe it has happened.

”Mum was fun and loving and so caring.”

Mrs Barker was born in Edmonton, London, and went to Latymer All Saints Primary School and Chase Girls School, before working as a secretary.

She met Errol while he was on leave from the Army and they married in 1988.

They moved to Clacton in 1995 and recently celebrated their 25th anniversary.

Mrs Barker had previously volunteered for the RSPCA and helped out at the 7th Clacton Scout Group.

She was a devout Christian and a member of the Clacton Elim Pentecostal Church, in Hayes Road.

She recently started working for Bloomsbury Home Care, in Thorpe, but had previously worked at Alliance Care and Support, in Frinton, and Coppins Green Primary School, in Clacton, as a midday assistant and learning support assistant.

Mrs Barker enjoyed horse riding, tenpin bowling and martial arts, as well as caring for her three cats.

She leaves husband Errol and their children Matthew, 21, Nikki, 20, Patrick, 16 and Michael, 15.

The driver of the other car suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment before being released.
